Aims and objectives
This unit aims to provide students with specialised knowledge and skills on various systems, processes and technologies for construction of buildings and civil infrastructure.
Unit Learning Outcomes (ULO)
On successful completion of this unit students will be able to:
1 Select and review materials and equipment essential for construction of buildings and civil infrastructure
2 Consider and apply relevant codes/ standards, permits/approvals and consultations required in construction projects
3 Interpret, use and communicate engineering designs and drawings for construction of buildings and civil infrastructure
4 Plan, propose and review temporary works for building construction and infrastructure works
5 Recognise and evaluate construction methods, processes, techniques and systems
