Dr Fan Liu

Postdoctoral Research Associate - Astronomical Spectroscopy

Biography

I started to work at Swinburn University of Technology since November 2019. I obtained my PhD degree at the Australian National University in 2016. I was then employed as a postdoctoral researcher at Lund University (Sweden) for 3 years.

My research mainly focus on high precision stellar spectroscopy, and elemental abundances of stars (e.g., planet hosts, binaries, solar twins, and open cluster stars). I'm interested in the connections between star and planet formation, Galactic chemical evolution, and Galactic archaeology. I'm using high-quality spectra from large telescopes all over the world (e.g., Keck, VLT, and Gemini) for my research projects.
