Swinburne University of Technology has launched Swinburne Professional to provide learning and development programs for public and private sector organisations.

Swinburne Professional offers practical and relevant organisational development programs specialising in:

  • leadership and management
  • project management
  • coaching
  • business skills
  • work health and safety.

Director Rob Chetwynd says Swinburne Professional programs are designed to support organisations and employees to realise their full potential.

“Practical, on-the-job learning is applied through projects in the workplace, delivering real bottom line benefits to the organisation,” Mr Chetwynd says.

“Our programs focus on applying the best of the university’s academic knowledge to deliver programs that build capability and deliver results.

“It’s an exciting time to launch Swinburne Professional. Swinburne has been working with industry for over 100 years and is gaining recognition nationally for its support of private and public sector organisations,” he says.

Vision Australia’s CEO, Ron Hooton says working with Swinburne Professional has delivered direct business benefit to Vision Australia.

“We worked with Swinburne Professional on two major projects, our Leadership Development Program and Organisational Coaching,” Mr Hooton says.

“The teaching staff were brilliant, both as educators and mentors; they took the time to gain an appreciation of our strategy and values as an organisation and delivered the program with both passion and professionalism.

“Our goal was to create a coaching capability in the organisation and 11 senior people (including myself) completed a Graduate Certificate in Coaching.  At every step of our learning, the program adapted to our needs as an organisation.

“Our assignments focused on how we would embed coaching in Vision Australia, as well as our own development as coaches. What emerged for Vision Australia was the embedding of coaching throughout our organisation in a way that will directly support our business as a disability services provider under the NDIS and MyAgedCare systems.”
