Swinburne has formalised its first research partnership in Vietnam, with International University, Ho Chi Minh City.

The partnership will bring together researchers at International University and Swinburne to offer a partnered PhD agreement in the areas of business and biotechnology.

It will also allow leading experts from both universities to collaborate on new research projects in designated fields.

International University is an esteemed institution in Vietnam.  It is one of six members of the Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, and is the first public university in Vietnam to use English as the primary language in teaching and research. 

Swinburne Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Development), Professor Aleksandar Subic, says the new partnership will foster strong research collaborations resulting in outcomes of significance to the region.

“We are pleased to partner with International University in the areas of business and biotechnology. We believe the partnership will be mutually beneficial for both universities as we work together to create impact in our region,” Professor Subic says.

“The partnered PhD agreement will help strengthen research links by providing staff and students with new opportunities for international engagement.”
