Swinburne’s Gender Equality Strategic Action Plan aims to deliver gender pay equality by 2020
In Summary
As part of its new Gender Equality Strategic Action Plan, Swinburne University of Technology has committed to achieving gender pay equity for all employees by 2020.
Other key initiatives of the Gender Equality Strategic Action Plan are:
- Flexibility @ Swinburne-a program promoting flexible working arrangements,
- Swinburne Connection-a transition program for parents returning to work from parental leave;
- ‘You the Man'-a theatre-based program which tackles issues of bystander engagement and violence prevention; and
- A domestic violence support program- that will support employees who are the victims of family and domestic violence.
Swinburne’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Linda Kristjanson said: “At Swinburne we celebrate and respect strength that difference creates.
“Swinburne is committed to achieving gender equality as an essential prerequisite for a fair workplace.”
Swinburne has long been a champion of equality in the workplace, and for the past six consecutive years has been named an Employer of Choice for Women by the Workforce Gender Equality Agency.
The Gender Equality Strategic Action Plan was developed in line with the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012, a law designed to promote and improve gender equality in the workplace.
