Swinburne University of Technology has again been given a five-star rating for overall graduate satisfaction by the Good Universities Guide 2015.

The five-star rating is the highest awarded by the guide, which ranks and rates 39 institutions across Australia based on access and equity, student body, educational experience and graduate outcomes.

In the 2015 edition, Swinburne maintained its four-star rating for teaching quality, generic skills and staff-student ratio.

The university also increased or maintained its ratings for socioeconomic equity and student retention.

“This satisfaction rating reflects the high quality educational experience we offer our students,” Swinburne Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Jennelle Kyd said.

“We put the student at the centre of everything we do, supporting individuals to achieve their aspirations through access to high-quality academic development programs and support services.

“We’re proud of the education that Swinburne offers our students and the value that a Swinburne degree delivers our graduates.”

Swinburne was also rated ‘high’ in new rating categories for the proportion of international students, the proportion of non-school leavers and the proportion of students studying full-time and on campus.

Last week, the prestigious Academic Ranking of World Universities rated Swinburne in the top 400 universities in the world and in the top 75 in the field of physics.

The Good Universities Guide provides an annual overview of universities and private higher education providers in Australia, rating universities in a number of important categories.
