“Central to everything we do is an expectation that we will make an impactful and meaningful contribution to education and the lives of students.

“Our new model of learning responds to the needs of a new group of students looking to enhance their future and careers and learn on their schedule.

“Our growth, graduates and current demand reflect our success in the emerging online education sector.”

Swinburne University of Technology Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost, Professor Jennelle Kyd, said Swinburne Online is testament to the University’s strength in innovation in the tertiary sector.

“Swinburne Online has been successful in reaching a new group of students for the University. We are proud of the milestones it has achieved in such just three years and making tertiary education accessible through online delivery,” Professor Kyd said.

Swinburne Online provides more than 5,000 students across Australia access to tertiary studies. These students come from a diverse range of backgrounds – one in four live in regional and rural locations and three quarters are studying part time.

Students are supported through their online journey with seven-day support, on-demand assignment assistance and teaching staff that consistently score highly in student satisfaction ratings.

Swinburne Online has been able to leverage existing technologies to make the learning experience more interactive and collaborative so students are able to engage with learning material, teachers and peers in their own time.
