Study tour overview

As part of an ongoing collaboration with Danang University of Science and Technology, this study tour will give you the opportunity to work collaboratively with Vietnamese students on activities designed to provide an insight into strategic environmental issues.

The unit brings a new dimension to "Internationalisation of the Curriculum" as it offers an opportunity to gain invaluable experience on environmental issues in a socio-cultural context, while instilling a sense of global citizenship and social responsibility. The key feature is the “immersive” aspect along with a unique chance for inter-disciplinary interactions. The programme has run for six consecutive years, and a total of 100 students have participated so far.

You will experience life on a Vietnamese campus, giving an invaluable cultural immersion and a deeper understanding of Vietnam’s educational environment. A key outcome is the application of knowledge to real-life, focussing on societal problems like waste management and plastics pollution. At the completion of the programme, you’ll be encouraged to explore the diversity of cultures across Vietnam. The study area addresses key components of UN’s Sustainable Development Goals which offers an avenue to foster a conceptual framework for in-depth institutional linkages with DUT and Vietnam.
