Global Leaders in Indonesia
This student leadership program will take you for two weeks to engage with various industries and communities in Indonesia. You will attend seminars, meetings, and company visits to interact with leaders, whilst also reflecting on your own sense of professional identity for improved employability.

Overview
This program offers a two-week immersive experience in Indonesia, exploring leadership and innovation in what has been called “The Asian Century”. You will engage with diverse industries and communities, participate in seminars, meetings, and site visits, and work with people from a range of disciplinary and cultural backgrounds. This experience is designed to explore your professional identity, leadership development, and employability through engagement and self-reflection.
During the 2 weeks, you will:
- Explore leadership and innovation across a range of industries and community initiatives.
- Work in cross-disciplinary teams to develop responses to real-world issues.
- Identify and build intercultural capabilities to enhance global awareness and employability.
- Investigate leadership values and traits across different cultures and industries.
- Collaborate in an exciting, challenging and intensive environment
- Develop your sense of professional purpose.
Highlights
This study tour is an immersive in-country experience that is supported by a purposefully designed reflective pedagogy. This will include:
- Being inspired by examples of innovation and leadership in diverse contexts of Indonesia
- Engaging in experiences and reflections that lead to personal transformation
- Applying new insights in cross disciplinary collaborations
- Exploring and developing your leadership qualities (adaptability, resilience, courage, responsibility)
The program combines scholarly exploration of innovation and leadership with activities including industry visits, seminars, and meetings with government officials plus cultural excursions. Industry visits will connect with a range of different industries, and include both established entities as well as rapidly growing start-ups.

Eligibility
To qualify for this program, you must:
- be enrolled into an Undegraduate degree
- have completed 100 credit points when applying
- have a distinction (70+) average

Funding
New Colombo Plan Mobility Grants
This program has 24 x A$3,000 Australian Government New Colombo Plan grants. These grants are available to Australian undergraduate students (with no citizenship or residency rights to Indonesia), who have not previously received an NCP short-term grant.
Grants are allocated on a rolling basis and students are automatically considered for a grant as part of the application process.
OS-HELP Loan
Eligible Australian students can apply for an Australian Government OS-HELP Loan of up to A$9,504 to help cover costs associated with your overseas program.
