Our business information systems courses are designed to show how people, information, computers, networks, and processes are intertwined. You’ll learn how to effectively bridge the communication gap between business people and technical IT people within an organisation to improve outcomes.

With organisations increasingly reliant on technology, studying business information systems has never been more vital. That’s why our courses and degrees give you the skills to perform complex business analysis and audits including problem-solving, systems acquisition and implementation. We combine this knowledge with database design and implementation, project management, business, social media and information systems management.

By the time you graduate, you’ll have the skills to analyse business problems and develop IT solutions — and be an integral part of the team.

  • "I chose Swinburne because they offered more placement opportunities than any other university for IT – as well as a $40k scholarship. I’ve already completed a 20-week placement at Melbourne Water. I was part of the core services team in the IT department. I learnt so many essential skills. My confidence went through the roof."
