Overview
This is a five-day Industry Training Workshop hosted at the Siemens Swinburne Energy Transition (SSET) Hub. This intensive training program will commence by exploring power system fundamentals and its complexities. Participants will gain hands-on experience with selected modules in PSS®SINCAL and acquire understanding of their usage for specific applications.
The training commences with an Introduction to PSS®SINCAL, Basic Network Modelling, and Modelling Switches. Participants will gain hands-on experience with Manual Network Modelling, Power Flow Analysis, Extended Element Modelling, Short Circuit Analysis, Network Model Structure, and Network Graphic Structure.

Associate Professor Mehdi Seyedmahmoudian
Professor Mehdi Seyedmahmoudian is a Professor at the SoSCET at Swinburne University of Technology, Australia. His research interests include renewable Energy systems, Artificial Intelligence, and application of emerging technologies, like VR-AR, in Complex Engineering problems. He strongly believes in industry engagement research initiatives and has stablished several research partnerships with external industries during his academic career. Mehdi has been chief/partner investigator of more than $15.7M funding application submission, including $6.4 successfully funded projects. He is among the top 2% researchers in the world based on his research performance within in EE and energy disciplines in 2020. -
Jose Moreira
Jose Moreira brings over two decades of extensive experience in the energy sector to his role as General Manager at Siemens Grid Software Australia. With a background that spans from engineering to project management, Jose has held various key positions within Siemens, including Regional Manager and Project Manager, as well as Commissioning and Configuration Engineer. His deep market knowledge and expertise encompass the entire spectrum of energy automation, SCADA systems, and communication solutions for industries and utilities, covering Transmission, Distribution, and Generation.
