"The Swinburne course provides practical and industry relevant development. The course encouraged me to analyse and devise creative ways to approach projects. Most importantly since undertaking the course I have had the confidence to step up and take the lead on the delivery of projects."
When, City of Casey project management officer, Casey Ward was given the chance to study Swinburne’s Diploma of Project Management, she knew it was an opportunity to build experience and gain industry recognition that she just couldn’t pass up.

Casey achieved this though her own unique approach to project management and the practical grounding that Swinburne’s project management course has given her.
“In the workplace each project is different in its objectives, governance structure and stakeholder needs, yet each project’s success is dependent on the consistent application of sound project management processes.”
“The Swinburne course understands this, providing practical and industry relevant development. The course encouraged me to analyse and devise creative ways to approach projects. Most importantly since undertaking the course I have had the confidence to step up and take the lead on the delivery of projects.”
If there is one piece of advice that Casey could impart to others considering their professional development it would be do it!
“I encourage any individual entering the industry to seek out educational opportunities that will assist in developing confidence and relevant skills. All project managers will learn regulations and protocols on the job, but what is really valued is critical thinking and above all the ability to problem solve.”
