Swinburne University of Technology is today celebrating Harmony Day by showcasing traditional cuisines from Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Vietnam with staff, students and the community.
The Swinburne World Kitchen event is one of the ways the university is celebrating diversity. It is an opportunity for our migrant student communities to share with us their traditional dishes and the stories of how these foods connect to their home countries.

Over the past week, Swinburne has been proudly supporting Cultural Diversity Week. It is a time that brings together people from all walks of life to promote community harmony and celebrate the many cultures that make the state so vibrant and important.
Today also marks the United Nations Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
Swinburne values social inclusion and welcomes people from all cultural and religious backgrounds.
Just a few weeks ago, the Swinburne community came together to plant a welcome tree, symbolising the university’s longstanding commitment to members from established and emerging migrant communities.
