Swinburne University of Technology’s reputation for producing graduates that are in high demand with employers has been confirmed in the first ever QS Graduate Employability Rankings.
Featuring in the top 200 ranked universities, Swinburne’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Linda Kristjanson says the result is a reflection of decades of focus by the university in producing career-ready graduates.
“Swinburne has offered practical work experiences to students for more than fifty years. Our graduates are valued for their creativity, as well as their ability to innovate and adapt to a variety of situations and circumstances,” Professor Kristjanson says.
“At Swinburne, we see education not simply as a form of learning, but as a path to empowering individuals to enter the workforce, build a future, and contribute to each nation’s growth and success.”
From 2016, Swinburne will offer Work Integrated Learning opportunities to all new undergraduate students – no matter what field of study they choose.
These opportunities will prepare students for their career by encouraging the development of professional work practices while allowing theoretical knowledge to be applied to authentic work situations.
This first edition of the QS Graduate Employability Rankings is based on indicators such as graduate employment rates and partnerships between universities and employers.
