Sustainable Business Planning
The Sustainable Business Planning program is designed to train consultants, business planners and advocates to improve the sustainability performance of Small to Medium Sized Enterprises (SME's) .
You are introduced to the fundamental concepts of:
- Sustainability principals
- Key issues driving sustainability
- The business case for sustainability
- Stakeholder engagement strategies
- Models of change for business organisations
- How to develop and implement a sustainable business plan
A key feature of the program is the focus on engagement with business owners and/or managers to identify sustainability opportunities that also align with business drivers. Advocates facilitate the shared development of a Sustainability Action Plan.
The program includes 4 days of workshop attendance spread over approximately 8 weeks. Participants are also required to spend up to 4 half days working with an SME to develop a Sustainability Action Plan. Participants are supported throughout the program by the program coordinators.
At the completion of the program, participants will receive a Certificate of Attainment from Swinburne University of Technology for the Nationally recognised Units of Competency - VPB435 “Apply the concepts of sustainability to a major challenge” & VPB437 "Develop a business plan for responsive and sustainable business”.
