| What age children are you looking for? | |
| Currently we are conducting studies that examine children from 2 months to 5 years. | |
| Will I be with my baby the whole time? | |
| Yes. In all of our baby studies you will be with your baby the entire time. In most of our studies the baby sits on a parent's lap throughout | |
| Do you do home visits, or must I come to the BabyLab to participate? | |
| At this time all of our studies require equipment that we only have in the BabyLab. | |
| How long do visits last? | |
| Visits to the BabyLab can last between 30-45 minutes. However the studies themselves usually last only 5-10 minutes. | |
| What kind of studies are you doing at the BabyLab? | |
| Depending on your child's age, there are a number of different studies that we may do. In some of our studies we measure children's brain activity. In others we track eye movements. In still others we measure how babies reach for toys. With older children (up to 5 years) we are looking at social skills. | |
| Can I bring my other children? | |
| Yes! We have a baby and child-friendly waiting area with toys. One of our staff will be happy to watch them. | |
| Is it safe? | |
| Absolutely. Everything we do at the BabyLab is safe and non-invasive. Our top priority is for you and your baby to have a good experience at the Swinburne BabyLab. Before your visit, everything that the study will entail will be explained to you over the phone. | |
