Inter-Library Loans

info

Inter-library loan and document delivery services

  • provide the Swinburne University research community with access to research literature that is not available at Swinburne
  • provide reciprocal access to Swinburne's library collections for the wider community, primarily through partner libraries in the national and international ILL/DD network.

For Swinburne staff & students

All requests submitted must support or relate to current research and/or teaching at Swinburne. Material will be obtained from within Australia and from overseas.

Some restrictions and/or charges apply to requests for material held in other university libraries in Melbourne, and to all requests by undergraduate and TAFE students. Access to ILL service is suspended if you have overdue loans at Swinburne Library or are suspended from the CAVAL Reciprocal Borrowing Program.

Access to Swinburne theses

Doctoral and Masters-by-research theses
Some Swinburne Doctoral and Masters-by-research theses are freely available online through the Australian Digital Theses (ADT) program. The number of theses available online is expected to increase significantly during 2005-2006.

Doctoral and Masters-by-research theses that are not online may be supplied to individuals, libraries or other organisations on CD-ROM (PDF) or as unbound printed copies under the same conditions as copies of journal articles.

Original printed theses are not available for loan, except where no electronic file is available, when a printed thesis may be loaned only to another library.

Coursework theses (e.g. MBA, Grad.Dip.)
are available for loan under the same conditions as books in the general library collection.

To identify Swinburne theses, search the library catalogue:

  • select Keyword search
  • enter keywords swinburne thesis and words that describe the award and/or subject (e.g. phd or mba or psychology or engineering)
