Linking to the library catalogue

You can link to:

  • the library catalogue start page
  • a specific catalogue screen or catalogue record.

Use this link: http://www.swin.edu.au/lib/catalogue

This will allow a person to choose their usual campus library.

Linking to a specific catalogue screen or catalogue record

Connect to the catalogue using this link:
http://ipac.lib.swin.edu.au/ipac20/ipac.jsp?profile=external

What to do...

Go to any catalogue screen or catalogue record and copy the URL from your browser (eg Internet Explorer , Firefox) Address window. The URL will look like this:

http://ipac.lib.swin.edu.au/ipac20/ipac.jsp?session=Y0547R25B5477.17124&profile=
external&uri=full=1100001~!193325~!10&ri=3&aspect=basic_search&menu=search&
source=~!pub&ipp=20&staffonly=&term=body+library&index=TW&

You need to edit the URL to remove the session information. Delete everything from and including "session=" up to and including the next "&". In the example below you should delete everything shown in red:

Connect to the catalogue using this link:

  • Do a search and go to the results screen
  • Copy the URL from your browser's Address window.
  • Delete everything from and including "session=" up to and including the next "&".

  • Go to the screen you want to link to, for example the screen to check your holds.
  • You will be prompted to login, unless you have already logged in. (Login instructions are on the catalogue page).
  • Copy the URL from your browser's Address window.
  • Delete everything from and including "session=" up to and including the next "&".
  • A person clicking this link will be prompted to login before seeing the screen you are linking to.
