Fellowship of the Australian Solar Institute awarded.

Friday March 30 2012

In a first for Swinburne the Centre for Micro-Photonics has been awarded a Postdoctoral Fellowship from the Australian Solar Institute (ASI).

The Fellowship is part of ASI's commitment to supporting and developing Australian solar research talent.

The Fellowship will support Dr Wensheng Yan from Nangyang University of Technology to spend three years working at the Victoria Suntech Advanced Solar Facility (VSASF) at Swinburne. Research in the VSASF focuses on developing the next generation in solar technology.

Dr Yan's research will involve more cost-effective, large-area amorphous silicon ultrathin film plasmonic solar cells towards industrial application.

An agreement with the ASI was signed in January 2012.
