Welcome to the Centre for Quantum and Optical Science

CQOS (formerly the Centre for Atom Optics and Ultrafast Spectroscopy) was established at Swinburne as a new strategic initiative in 1999. The Centre is part of the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology.  CQOS, together with the Centre for Micro-Photonics (CMP) is housed in the Swinburne Optics and Laser Laboratories (SOLL)

CQOS hosts a node of the ARC Centres of Excellence for Coherent X-ray Science (CXS) and hosted a node of the former ARC Centre of Excellence for Quantum-Atom Optics (ACQAO).
