Preferred respondent announced for Lilydale

Swinburne University of Technology has welcomed today’s announcement that Box Hill Institute is the preferred respondent to the expression of interest process for the university’s former Lilydale campus.
Swinburne’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Linda Kristjanson, said that she was pleased that a positive outcome regarding the future of the Lilydale site had been reached.
“The Victorian Government has made the re-opening of the campus for educational use a high priority and we have been steadily working towards that objective since November last year,” Professor Kristjanson said.
“Through the Expression of Interest process, we’re delighted to have found in Box Hill a new educational provider capable of providing more educational options for the Yarra Valley.”
Swinburne will continue to work collaboratively with Box Hill and the Government of Victoria to meet the community’s needs to ensure that education can be provided from the site in 2016.
