Supervisor Master Classes

The Psychology Clinic offers a series of refresher/ master classes for Board-approved supervisors who wish to maintain their Board-approved supervisor status for another five years. 

Upcoming Master Classes:

Competency Based Assessment of Supervisees | Saturday 5 May 2018

A one-day workshop discussing supervisee competency assessment in the context of professional and ethical requirements, approach and supervisee development. Provision of feedback as well as the role of individual and contextual factors is discussed

Supervising Higher Education Students (Two dates) | Thursday 15th March 2018 | Saturday 12 May 2018

A one-day workshop discussing supervision issues specific to supervision of provisional psychologists who are undertaking postgraduate professional training programs. The workshop will provide a description of the context in which supervision is occurring and the roles of various professional and training bodies. Issues relating to competency assessment, evaluation and monitoring will be discussed within the developmental and organisational context.

Clinical Supervision from a CBT Perspective | Saturday 26 May 2018

A one-day workshop providing an introduction to clinical supervision from Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) perspective, covering both conceptual and procedural aspects of providing supervision within the CBT framework. Conceptualisation of client and/or supervisee progress, hypotheses generation and testing, specific knowledge and skill development, modelling and implementation of interventions, and evaluation through self- and live- observation are covered. The role of objective and reliable evaluation of outcomes in therapy and supervision is consistent with the emphasis on evidence-based practice within this approach
