Health Science
Educating remote communities in the principles of health. Applying psychology to sporting teams to help them to perform better. Advising the food industry on food safety. Health Sciences at Swinburne provides the skills required to assist and improve the well-being of communities and groups across the world - and make a real difference.
Our Health science programs are practical and multidisciplinary. We look at Australian and international health challenges from a physical, psychological and social perspective. This means you'll develop a unique view of global and local health issues and strengthen your career prospects.
Our undergraduate programs start out by enabling you to undertake a range of general Health Science units from across all the major areas of the Faculty such as biology, chemistry, sociology, communication, psychology, sport science, exercise physiology, and sport statistics.
Depending on your interests you then have the opportunity to specialise in one of the following areas:
- Sport science
- Health promotion
- Nutrition
- Public and environmental health *
- Psychology
Professionals in Health Science are in great demand, so choose your degree, and start to change the world.
If you are not currently enrolled in a Swinburne program, you may apply to undertake any of our undergraduate or selected postgraduate units as single units of study.
* To complete the Public and environmental health major, you need to be enrolled in Bachelor of Health Science (Public and Environmental Health). Refer to table below.
