Finding Journal Articles
Databases enable you to search for articles on a particular topic:
- Ebscohost A platform for more than 40 databases, use this link to search across all of them or to select individual, or groups of, relevant databases such as:
- Academic Search Complete A multidisciplinary database covering a range of subject areas including the sciences. Provides full text for more than 5000 journals, both scholarly and popular.
- Ejournals Database Indexes thousands of electronic journal titles. Full text available online for selected titles.
- Health Source Academic/Nursing Edition Full text for over 400 scholarly full text journals focusing on nursing and allied health.
- Health Source Consumer Edition Full text health journals intended for the health consumer.
- General Science on Gale Covers more than 200 science journals from general science magazines to academic journals.
- Sage Premier Full text access to over 450 journals published by Sage, access is generally from 1999 onwards.
- Scopus One of the world’s largest abstract and indexing database. It also includes the journals indexed by ScienceDirect and has 100% Medline coverage. Science Direct is a full text science database with a strong coverage of biomedical science journals.
- SpringerLink Full text articles from almost all journals published by Springer.
- TVNews on Informit Provides online access to news, current affairs and selected documentary programs that have been broadcast on Australian television such as Four Corners, Catalyst and Cutting Edge.

- Web of Science Provides access to current and retrospective multidisciplinary information from approximately 8,700 of the most prestigious, high impact research journals in the world. You can search most disciplines and time spans back to 1982 to uncover information relevant to your research.

- DDBJ (DNA Data Bank of Japan) Nucleotide sequence database from Japan.
- Nature Online Website of the journal, Nature, with links to the current issue, archive, videos and podcasts.
- Protein Data Bank Provides a variety of tools and resources for studying the structures of biological macromolecules and their relationships to sequence, function, and disease. Includes three-dimensional models of proteins, enzymes, nucleic acids, protein-nucleic acid complexes, and viruses that are derived from x-ray crystallography and NMR experiments.
