About HED
Welcome to Swinburne University of Technology’s Higher Education Division. Our purpose is to deliver courses that combine high quality teaching with real-world practical experience. We work in partnership with industry to produce university graduates who are innovative, professional and highly skilled. We are also leading the way in delivering high quality online eduction for working Australians.
Swinburne is well-known for its innovative approach to teaching and learning. We consistently receive five-star ratings, from The Good Universities Guide, for teaching quality and graduate satisfaction. Swinburne is also the only dual sector institution in Australia to be named among the top research intensive universities in the world.
At Swinburne we take pride in our Industry Engaged Learning programs, which expose students to real-world work environments of all types and the people who manage and work in them. We give our students the opportunity to develop practical skills, professional experience and industry contacts in their chosen fields.
Through our Academic Personal Best program, we support first year students to make the transition to university and to achieve their personal education goals. This unique program enables students to develop the learning skills essential for academic success.
Through our partnership with SEEK Ltd, we have created Swinburne Online, which is reinventing the way Australians learn. Swinburne Online degrees are designed to meet the needs of busy people with commitments that keep them from studying at university, on campus. All of our courses have been designed from the ground up, for online delivery and support.
Swinburne is also the first Australian university to offer a guaranteed articulation program for successful TAFE students into higher education programs. Known as the Guaranteed Entry Scheme, students know that a place in an undergraduate program has been reserved for them when they enrol in a Swinburne TAFE diploma or advanced diploma.
Whether you're a student, an industry partner, or a staff member, it's an exciting time to be part of Swinburne and I'm proud to welcome you through our doors.
