Swinburne University of Technology’s Higher Education Office provides academic and professional support to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor Shirley Leitch.

The DVC (Academic) is responsible for:

  • Overseeing the strategic development and quality assurance of higher education at Swinburne, including programs and staff within the university's six Melbourne faculties and its international campus Swinburne Sarawak.
  • Ensuring Swinburne's higher education programs comply with government regulations and standards.
  • Introducing new higher education initiatives to ensure the university's continued growth, success and relevance into the 21st century.

Under the direction of the DVC (Academic), the Higher Education Office delivers a range of strategic projects, innovations and initiatives to ensure the continued growth and quality of higher education at Swinburne.

These include developing articulation pathways between TAFE and higher education, including the Guaranteed Entry Scheme, and building the university's online education partnership with SEEK, Swinburne Online.
