Basic Welding

Description

Basic Welding:
Oxy Cutting, GTAW (TIG), MMAW (ARC) and GMAW (MIG) welding.

This course is designed for the home handy person with little knowledge of the practical and theory skills to use the above welding process safely.

The correct selection of welding rods and consumables required to be used for the MIG and TIG processes are also covered.

Types of welds include butt and fillet welds on mild steel.

The aim of the course is to provide participants, without existing knowledge, with skills in basic welding.

Students will be required to wear the correct Personal Protective attire; cotton long sleeve overalls, work boots and clear safety glasses.

Suitable for: Any person wishing to gain basic welding skills.

Please Note: Any welding students that have pacemakers or any form of heart implant that is subject to magnesium - cannot enrol in  welding.
