Stand-Alone Power Supply Systems (SPS)
In order for consumers to take advantage of Government incentives and rebates in solar power such as purchase/installation subsidies and feed-in-tariffs, the designer and installer must be accredited by the Clean Energy Council (CEC). For this reason there is high demand from electricians and other tradespeople for training that leads to CEC accreditation for stand-alone system designer/installers.
CEC accreditation requires the successful completion and assessment of the following units of competency:
*UEENEEK123A Carry out basic repairs to renewable energy apparatus
*UEENEEK128A Solve problems in stand-alone renewable energy systems
*UEENEEK134A Install standalone extra low voltage photovoltaic power systems
*UEENEEK139A Design stand-alone renewable energy (RE) systems
and *UEENEEK125A Solve basic problems in photovoltaic energy apparatus and systems to be completed online prior to the start of the course.
If you have completed *UEENEEK125A Solve basic problems in photovoltaic energy apparatus and systems or any of the above listed units within the past 10 years, please advise us upon registering, and once you have provided proof of this, you may be eligible for an exemption from that unit.
In order to undertake these units participants must be a fully qualified electrician, electrical or electronics engineer or have completed the basic electrical prerequisites of the Certificate IV in Renewable Energy.
Training includes online and face-to-face delivery at Swinburne’s Wantirna campus.
It is recommended that prior to enrolment prospective students visit the Clean Energy Council (CEC) website for the latest accreditation rulings.
Note: This course is not CRICOS registered and is unavailable to international students on a student visa.
