Student Life Volunteering Program

Join other student volunteers and help make some of our major events such as Open Day and O-Week a great success! Our volunteers action a variety of tasks, such as setting up for events, campus décor, promotions and more.

There are opportunities throughout the year across our Hawthorn, Wantirna and Croydon campuses to get involved. This is a fun and easy way to collect volunteer hours, make new friends and add to your resume.

As well as having a direct impact on the events that we hold throughout the university, there are many benefits available to those that volunteer their time to the program, including gaining experience that can qualify you for the Emerging Leaders Program.

Volunteer in the community

Community volunteering is a rewarding experience, and you can volunteer with a range of not-for-profit organisations. Not only will you develop skills, meet new people and build your networks, you’ll also expand your understanding of ‘community’ and what it means to give back.

Once you’ve completed the three steps above, you can begin searching for volunteering opportunities in the community via SwinEmployBooroondara Volunteer Resource Centre or Go Volunteer.

Off-campus volunteering activities could also include supporting fun events outside of campus, tutoring refugees or even doing volunteering online. There are also professional experience opportunities and internships that could help you get your first job.
