Congratulations on receiving your Letter of Offer to study with us! You’re on your way to having whole new adventures and experiences that will be life-changing.

Here are some things you need to know about your letter.

Conditional offers

Conditional offers are made to applicants who are required to provide additional documentation to support their application.

Prior to, or at the time of accepting a conditional offer, you must provide evidence that you have met all of the stated conditions. If you don’t provide this evidence, you won’t be able to proceed with your enrolment or student visa application.

The conditions listed on your Letter of Offer will outline the documents you need to provide to us. These may include:

  • official or certified copies of academic transcripts
  • completion letters or certificates
  • IELTS (academic module) or TOEFL (computer-based or paper-based or IBT) results (no more than two years old).

When you have all the documents outlined in your Letter of Offer, you’ll need to send them to us with your completed Acceptance Form (included in your offer letter). Find out How to accept your offer.

Academic credit

In Australian universities, the term 'academic credit’ is often used interchangeably with terms such as ‘advanced standing’ and ‘exemptions’. However, there are differences.

Academic credit is a recognition of previous study that exempts you from certain course requirements. If you have received academic credit, it will be shown in your Letter of Offer.

Academic credit allows you to enter a course with ‘advanced standing’, which means you’ll need to complete fewer units in your course to earn your qualification.

Finally, an ‘exemption’ is simply another word for ‘advanced standing’.

The duration of your course will be on your Letter of Offer and will reflect the amount of ‘advanced standing’ (academic credit) you have received.

Applications for academic credit after enrolling

If you wish to apply for academic credit for your bachelor degree or master degree after you have enrolled, you’ll need to submit your application before the end of the first week of your course.

Submit the online form to apply for academic credit post application.

Note: Late applications will not be considered.

To apply for academic credit for your diploma or certificate after you have enrolled, you’ll need to submit your application during the first four weeks of your course.

Submit your application form to studentHQ at our campus libraries.

Note: Late applications will not be considered.

Tuition fees and deposit

When you submit your Offer Acceptance Form, you’ll need to pay a deposit for your course. The amount will be included in your Letter of Offer, which will also include the annual tuition fee based on a full-time workload.

Fees for each teaching period (e.g. semester, block or term, depending on your course) are based on how many units you are enrolled in and are reviewed annually.

Overseas Student Health Cover

The Australian Government requires you and your dependants to maintain acceptable health and medical insurance during your stay in Australia. Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) is arranged by a registered health provider as determined by the Australian Government.

Exchange and study abroad offer letters

If you have a Letter of Offer for a study abroad program it will include your tuition fee based on a full-time study schedule for each teaching period.

The units you study may have a duration of one or two teaching periods. A full list of your chosen pre-approved units will be included in your Letter of Offer on your Unit Nomination Form. You must submit your Unit Nomination Form with your Offer Acceptance Form to confirm your study plan.

If you are applying for a student visa, you will be required to have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) when you submit your offer acceptance letter. Your Letter of Offer will list how much your OSHC will cost based on the duration of your student visa.

Changing courses

It is important to ensure you are happy with the course you’ve chosen before accepting your offer to study with us. We do not guarantee that you will be able to transfer to another course.

You will not be able to transfer to another educational institution for the first six months of your principal course (i.e. your final course, if you have a packaged offer). This includes any courses you complete prior to starting your principal course.

Requests to transfer during this period will be assessed against the transfer guidelines and will only be permitted in limited circumstances.
