Aims and objectives

The unit allows students to develop practical writing skills that are applicable to social and mobile media platforms. Students will be equipped to produce content for mobile and social media applications, and will understand the parameters for content creation on small screens, social media, tablet apps, micromedia outputs, citizen and mobile creative and journalistic works.

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
1. Critically evaluate issues in social and mobile media content creation, strategy and audience engagement;
2. Compare and discuss the strategic professional practices of writing for social and mobile media with other media production projects;
3. Demonstrate research and conceptual skills for strategy and production processes in creating mobile and social media content;
4. Apply social and mobile media strategies and conventions to the evaluation and production of written and production content;
