Aims and objectives
This unit aims to provide students with an overview and understanding of the core concepts underpinning Industry 4.0. It is designed to expose students to the holistic approach of Industry 4.0, bringing together business, manufacturing, and software processes to optimise the way an organisation operates.
Unit Learning Outcomes (ULO)
On successful completion of this unit students will be able to:
1. Understand the interactions between various strategic and operational aspects of an organisation that may be optimised for flexibility and value capture and creation (K2,K3)
2. Apply the principles of Industry 4.0 to an organisation's processes (S1)
3. Evaluate the potential of a business or manufacturing process for optimization in an Industry 4.0 framework (S3)
