Aims and objectives

This unit helps students differentiate the strategic nature of leadership; define strategy and understand that personal and an organization’s strategy is a dynamic process; become familiar with key strategic concepts and tools; learn fundamentals of analysing industry dynamics, responding to competitive challenges, and improving organizational performance; define strategic decisions and understand appropriate processes to overcome strategic decision-making challenges; understand key factors necessary to execute a strategy; enhance strategic leader competence and mindset by applying strategic tools to a personal and/or organizational development plan; assess the impact of culture and gender on leadership style and advancement; and understand the importance of strategic thinking in leadership development. This unit is offered and delivered by Northeastern University.
 
Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
 
1. Critically analyse the strategic nature of leadership.
2. Apply coherent and advanced knowledge that personal and an organisation’s strategy is a dynamic process.
3. Apply fundamentals of analysing industry dynamics, responding to competitive challenges, and improving organisational performance.
4. Define strategic decisions and understand appropriate processes to overcome strategic decision-making challenges.
