Aims and objectives

At the completion of this unit students should be able to:
• Differentiate the strategic nature of leadership
• Define strategy and understand that personal and an organization’s strategy is a dynamic process
• Become familiar with key strategic concepts and tools
• Learn fundamentals of analysing industry dynamics, responding to competitive challenges, and improving organizational performance
• Define strategic decisions and understand appropriate processes to overcome strategic decision-making challenges
• Understand key factors necessary to execute a strategy
• Enhance strategic leader competence and mindset by applying strategic tools to a personal and/or organizational development plan
• Assess the impact of culture and gender on leadership style and advancement
• Understand the importance of strategic thinking in leadership development
 
Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
1. Critically analyse the strategic nature of leadership.
2. Apply coherent and advanced knowledge that personal and an organisation’s strategy is a dynamic process.
3. Apply fundamentals of analysing industry dynamics, responding to competitive challenges, and improving organisational performance.
4. Define strategic decisions and understand appropriate processes to overcome strategic decision-making challenges.
