Aims and objectives

This unit will enable students to develop their research skills. Students will be involved in undertaking research design, planning, data collection and analysis as part of their Professional Placement. They will be required to produce a written report and present their findings.

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
1. Demonstrate skills in the design and conduct of nutrition research.
2. Apply the principles of ethical conduct of research to the implementation of their project.
3. Analyse data using appropriate statistical methodologies and interpret the findings.
4. Communicate their research findings in oral presentation.
5. Communicate their research findings in written form through the production of an original paper suitable for
journal publication.
