Aims and objectives
During their placement, students will demonstrate professional skills required in occupational therapy practice, develop and practice core occupational therapy skills and manage a small caseload.
Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
1. Conduct themselves in a professional manner
2. Demonstrate effective self-management skills
3. Communicate effectively within the workplace, and with service users and significant others
4. Develop and maintain appropriate documentation
5. Practise assessment/information gathering skills
6. Practise intervention/service provision methods (individual/ group), defining goals, coordination and implementation
7. Observe, describe, practise and reflect on effective evaluating skills
