Aims and objectives

This unit provides an overview of the concepts, theories and research findings in the field of change management and business transformation with the aim of demonstrating how change management is implemented in organisational practice, in relation to individuals, groups and the overall organisation. It encourages students to adopt an integrative, multi-disciplinary approach to change management, including a case study approach that applies theory and brings alive the context and reality of change within business organisations.
Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
1. Demonstrate coherent and advanced knowledge and critical understanding of how change management has been applied in practice.
2. Research key conceptual categories relevant to change management effectiveness and critically evaluate the literature and theory of change management.
3. Demonstrate critical thinking and apply knowledge to change management practice.
 Reflect on and take responsibility for their own learning and self-management processes.
