Aims and objectives

This unit involves managing different personalities, cultures, and varying skill levels, while simultaneously securing resources and managing expectations of stakeholders. Through participating in and observing team dynamics, students will determine the principles of building highly effective teams. The “experiential learning” approach used in this course combines learning through decision-based case situations and team actions that connects theory with experience through team activities. This unit is offered and delivered by Northeastern University.
Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:

1. Apply coherent and advanced knowledge of effective team leadership and its impact on the organisation and business success
2. Critically analyse fundamental concepts of team dynamics relevant to goal-setting, role clarity, communication, planning, problem-solving, and execution
3. Assess and improve team leadership effectiveness by diagnosing the team needs, defining an action plan and soliciting feedback
4. Communicate proficiently and in a professional manner to a wide range of audiences and participate as a leader or member of a diverse team.
