Aims and objectives

Students will experience a combination of IoT-related technical competencies and “soft” skills and that will allow them to successfully develop IoT -related products and services that are needed by the industry and government. Students will conduct a IoT startup launching exercise from identifying the need for a new IoT product/service, to setting up a team and developing an IoT product, to seeking users/investors for this, to pursing innovation awards and related publicity.

Unit Learning Outcomes (ULO)

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:

1. Apply critical IoT analysis and problem solving
2. Identify real IoT-related problems and solutions people want.
3. Achieve high degree of productivity in a small team via agile, high quality practices and team organisation approaches.
4. Communicate effectively and succinctly through oral presentation and written reports with non-IT experts
5. Design and develop IoT products/services.
