Aims and objectives

This unit consolidates competence in listening, speaking, reading and writing in Italian (intermediate level). This unit will also critically analyse the different aspects of the Italian language in literature, culture, art, film, music and theatre related texts.

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
1. Translate and master the language used in texts with intermediate level Italian;
2. Critically analyse the different aspects of the Italian language in literature, culture, art, film, music and theatre related texts;
3. Confidently express verbally in Italian, demonstrating an intermediate level of language fluency;
4. Formulate and articulate an opinion in Italian on the issues discussed or the texts read in class, and demonstrate an ability to creatively re-write or adapt an existing text to new purposes.
