Overview

This unit will provide students with digital documentation and representation skills using an information rich model at an advanced level applying parametric components (building rich information model based on pre- defined rules). These skills will allow students to communicate design ideas across stakeholders within the Architectural Engineering and Construction (AEC) Industry. Students will also learn the roles and responsibilities of all stakeholders and their involvement in initiating and completing a design project on and off site.

Learning outcomes

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:

  • Debate the implementation of advanced information rich model at a professional level
  • Plan a model based on the communication strategies between different stakeholders
  • Analyse information rich model principles to extract information
  • Produce detailed 2D documentation and schedules from an information rich model
  • Make a parametric component applying acquired skills of an information rich model
  • Evaluate the environmental impact and sustainability of the project
