Aims and objectives

This unit introduces students to the importance of interdisciplinary design teamwork to develop their interpersonal and communication skills as a designer. Students will use their disciplinary knowledge and skills to collaborate in teams on a studio project, providing effective solutions in a real world context.

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
1. Apply design knowledge and skills to construct suitable responses to real-world problems.
2. Demonstrate critical thinking and evaluative judgement in planning, problem solving and decision making during the project.
3. Manage constraints, timelines and project requirements to develop proposals for a complex and/or large-scale project.
4. Articulate and justify project proposals using a range of written, verbal and visual communication processes.
5. Apply collaborative and inclusive management processes to interdisciplinary team work.
