A unit which must be taken at the same time.

Aims and objectives

Offered from 2017

Building on Integrated Professional Placement A, this unit requires students to continue reflecting on their professional placement experience to draw links with discipline knowledge and document the ongoing development and growth of their employability skills.

This unit runs concurrently with Work Experience in Industry B.

The aim of this unit is to provide students with a second six months of directed, experiential learning opportunities in the real-world context of their professional placement.

The unit aims to provide students with an opportunity to plan for a future career that focuses on ‘learning to work’.

The aim of the unit is to provide students with the opportunity to contextualise their university studies in practice, reflecting on and learning from workplace experiences, and developing broader professional skills such as creativity, innovation and leadership.

Throughout the unit students will further develop a portfolio (collection of evidence) of the employability skills they have developed during their work placement.

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:

1.    Identify possible future career paths.

2.    Work individually and as part of a team with some autonomy and independence.

3.    Demonstrate effective communication for a range of audiences.

4.    Reflect on significant incident/s in the workplace for developing existing discipline knowledge and skills.
