Aims and objectives
By studying this unit, students will be able to provide a detailed analysis of the relationship between pedagogical principles and the communication of Human Factors knowledge, skills, and abilities within the operational environment. Develop a critical perspective of contemporary approaches to Human Factors instruction within complex socio- technological environments such as aviation, and consider some of the strategies that might be employed to facilitate an improvement in the process of human factors instruction within the workplace.
Unit Learning Outcomes
1. Evaluate and assess the principles of instructional systems design as they apply to Human Factors
2. Identify the limitations associated with contemporary Human Factors training initiatives
3. Develop a proposal for a Human Factors training initiative on the basis of a critical analysis of instructional principles
4. Assess the principles of simulator based Human Factors training programs
5. Demonstrate through creative and informed individual written communications the application of analysis and theory to current practices and developments in Human Factors Instruction.

Minimum requirements to pass this Unit
As the minimum requirements of assessment to pass a unit and meet all Unit Learning Outcomes to a minimum standard, a student must achieve:
(i) an aggregate mark of 50% or more, and
(ii) must complete all assignments.
Students who do not successfully achieve hurdle requirement (ii) in full, will receive a maximum of 44% as the total mark for the unit and will not be eligible for a conceded pass.
