Aims and objectives

This unit aims to provide an understanding of clients’ housing and support needs, critically evaluate the problems of linking housing with support, and improve housing workers’ client relation skills.

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
1. Appraise the interactions between housing, homelessness, and support programs
2. Identify the complexities of managing complex clients
3. Assess how clients’ behavioural problems can impact on housing provision
4. Evaluate client contact skills
5. Identify a range of appropriate interventions for dealing with the problems of clients with multiple disadvantages
