Aims and objectives

This unit provides an overview of the role of social housing and considers the specific tasks of housing management, with particular emphasis on current policy directions and management dilemmas that impact on providers of housing for low income households.


Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
1. Appraise housing management methods currently used in Australia
2. Identify and examine the basic elements of housing assistance in Australia and internationally
3. Analyse and discuss contemporary social housing practice
4. Identify and categorize contemporary housing policies and programs in Australia
5. Summarize an overview of the role of social housing in current society
