Aims and objectives

This unit aims to set the foundations of learning and teaching in higher education settings. This will involve establishing a peer network in which students will participate in a range of activities to learn about diverse learning theories and pedagogies, and the tertiary environment in which they are working and studying. The scene will be set for continued consideration of how to support the variety of paths students take in their learning journeys.

Unit Learning Outcomes (ULO)
On successful completion of this unit students will be able to:

1. Apply learning theories and pedagogies (including Indigenous pedagogies), models and frameworks in professional contexts.

2. Practice a critical approach to digital technology integration to enhance learning and teaching.
3. Critically reflect on and develop your personal, interpersonal, professional and organisational approaches to working in inclusive tertiary educational contexts.
4. Contribute to the establishment of a peer network and add evidence to your learning and teaching portfolio.
