Aims and objectives

In this subject students will choose, describe, apply and justify principles of assessment and intervention for individuals or groups of adolescents who are experiencing occupational performance challenges as a result of a musculoskeletal, neurological or mental health conditions. Interventions will be occupation based and focus on recovery and/or adaptation


Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
1. Select and apply an occupational therapy conceptual practice model
2. Select and apply professional practice models which will guide assessment and intervention planning
3. Synthesise person, environment and occupation factors to design an intervention plan for an adolescent or group of adolescents
4. Articulate professional reasoning and critique of evidence to justify intervention plan
