Aims and objectives

This unit expands students’ knowledge and skills in digital video compositing, developing students’ commercial digital video compositing skills. There will be a focus on developing creative outcomes based on an understanding of the audience and development of an appropriate conceptual strategy. Students will extend their digital video compositing techniques, and work to achieve completed productions. They will be given the opportunity to explore various techniques using digital tools and encouraged to develop independent study, investigation and development skills.

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
1. Plan, manage and produce a digital video compositing proposal for a sequence of digital video, including the analysis of reference material, audience, appropriate resources and processes.
2. Use compositing techniques to illustrate meaning and mood to a digital video sequence.
3. Apply a range of commercial compositing techniques, tools, principles and options to convincingly manipulate digital video.
4. Apply post production, design principles, sound and editing skills to produce a resolved digital video outcome.
