Aims and objectives

This unit aims to transfer knowledge of traditional animation techniques, practices and principles to a digital animation
environments. Students will build skills in the planning, production and presentation of digital animation, and develop
specialist capabilities using computer software and digital input devices.
 
After successfully completing this unit, students should be able to:
1. Apply traditional animation skills and techniques within a digitally animated sequence
2. Propose a process for producing digital animation in project documentation
3. Construct and integrate production assets into an animated sequence, synthesising knowledge of animation and design software
4. Analyse appropriate screen media and industry practice in a project document
5. Organise production requirements into manageable tasks, evidenced through the delivery of a refined digitally animated sequence
6. Present and critique visual and written ideas in a concise, professional manner.
