Aims and objectives

Unit learning outcomes are the starting point to explore outcomes-based educational approaches. The focus will then shift to the design of learning activities, including using a variety of digital media and applying universal design and accessibility principles, and evaluation of the use of activities to inform practice. Finally, consideration will be given to the roles and practice of mapping in aligning activities with other curriculum components in order to support curriculum renewal in an ethical evidence-based manner.

Unit Learning Outcomes (ULO)
On successful completion of this unit students will be able to:

1. Design learning environments that enable student engagement through the provision of a diverse range of opportunities that facilitate group and individual work.
2. Apply curriculum mapping and renewal techniques to ensure alignment of unit learning outcomes, activities and assessments.
3. Evaluate and apply concepts and approaches to the design of inclusive learning and teaching environments that respect individual learners and diverse learning communities.
4. Design, develop, implement, and evaluate learning activities utilising appropriate digital technologies.
5. Contribute to sustaining a peer network and add to your professional portfolio evidence of an informed and ethical approach to designing and facilitating learning environments
